About
Hi,
I'm Sheree, a knitwear designer who loves to hand make sparkly, colourful going-out clothes and winter accessories. Where possible I use end of line yarns so each piece is limited edition and environmentally friendly. I was born and live in London, night life is an ongoing inspiration for my new projects and collections.
I completed a degree in Textile Design at Central Saint Martin's where I specialised in working with knitted fabrics.
After graduating in 2011 I showcased my collection at Fashions Finest during London Fashion Week and knit clothes for designers Derek Lawlor, Bora Aksu, Wool and the Gang and Diane Von Fusrstenburg, with garments showcased on the catwalk in London and New York.
Following my internships and freelance work I became a Junior Designer at a UK Supplier where I designed going out dresses for the UK High Street including Topshop, Lipsy, River Island and Miss Selfridge.
Designing for high street fashion brands left me feeling disillusioned and I realised; to create a change in the industry, it needs to be taught within fashion schools. In a full circle moment, I came back to the University of the Arts London (UAL) and completed a PGCE in Academic Practice with a focus on Inclusive Teaching and Learning.
Two children later, I'm now a Lecturer and teach knitting and textile techniques at UAL. I am also a workshop facilitator for The Black Girl Knit Club where I teach hand knitting classes across London:
